today announced it will give away a full one-on-one 30 hour reading
scholarship in honor of National Kids Day, a day to celebrate and
honor children by building awareness and encouraging children and
adults to spend meaningful time together. Kids Day is a National
holiday celebrated each year on the first Sunday in August. It's
about celebrating kids - whether it's your sons, daughters, nieces,
nephews or any child in need of mentoring. By spending time with
kids, mentors help develop a positive self-image and a sense of
belonging.

Learning Institute and other businesses across America are supporting
this special day to foster relationships between adults and children.
Research has shown that parent involvement, especially in activities
that directly support their children's school success, is correlated
with reading achievement.

are delighted to offer this reading scholarship on behalf of National
Kids Day, and share the enthusiasm for reading," said Brad Diskin,

To
celebrate and apply for the UROK Learning Institute scholarship
valued at $2,250, come to the Qualcomm Stadium from 10:30 am to
1:00 pm prior to the Padres game on Sunday, August 4. The Boys and
Girls Clubs of San Diego will host a tailgate celebration with games,
food, music and lots more.
UROK
offers the Literacy Links reading intervention program to the general
public at the company's Mission Valley clinic. This highly structured,
30-hour program provides individual (one-on-one) instruction in
phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and reading comprehension.
Students who complete the three-week program typically improve their
reading skills by at least one grade level. Some achieve even more.
