Clinic is certified to provide behavior intervention plans to California
special education students

Diego, California - July 8, 2002 - UROK Learning Institute today
announced it has received Nonpublic Agency (NPA) Certification from
the California Department of Education. This certification indicates
that UROK Learning Institute meets the state department of education
requirements for providing Behavior Intervention Plans to California
special-education students. UROK does this through their research-based,
one-on-one, K-12 reading intervention program, Literacy Links™.
"This
certification is an important milestone for our reading intervention
program," said Brad Diskin, CEO of UROK Learning Institute. "It
qualifies us to provide our affordable reading intervention services
to public schools - including IEP students - and other governmental
agencies in San Diego."
Having
opened its reading clinic in October of 2001, UROK is actively engaging
opportunities in public schools and other agencies with their behavior-intervention
programs by offering the research-based Literacy Links reading intervention
program. NPA certification is mandated in order to provide these
services to public schools and agencies.
UROK
also offers the Literacy Links reading intervention program to the
general public at the company's Mission Valley clinic. This highly
structured, 30-hour program provides individual (one-on-one) instruction
in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and reading
comprehension. Students who complete the three-week program typically
improve their reading skills by at least one grade level. Some achieve
even more.
