Institute is a "Great Cat" Sponsor of the San Diego Council
of Literacy Event.

California - March 21, 2002 - UROK Learning Institute today
announced that it is a "Great Cat" contributor to the
Dr. Suess Race for Literacy, which is organized by the San Diego
Council on Literacy.
"With the
President's recent signing of the 'No Child Left Behind Act,' the
Dr. Suess Race for Literacy is a timely event for focusing attention
on the importance of improving our children's reading skills,"
said Alex Urbano, President of UROK Learning Institute. "When
38 percent of the nation's 8-year olds cannot read at grade level,
there is a definite need to raise awareness of the literacy problem
and to make people aware of the local resources available to help
overcome reading difficulties."
The Dr. Suess
Race for Literacy features two races, offering a weekend of running
and walking for the entire community. A Kids' Magic Mile race will
be held on Saturday, May 4. The 8K race is scheduled for Sunday,
May 5. Both races will be held at Balboa Park in San Diego.

Institute will have a booth at the pre-race expo at Road Runner
Sports where they will have information about the UROK reading clinic
and the Literacy Links™ program, which offers one-on-one instruction
in phonemic awareness.
